This is the planned date for Phoenix Alliance's Spring fundraiser.
We have a dinner, live and silent auction, and student entertainment.

This years' goal:
Furnish the forum!

Translated from Latin, that means we are working to help finance the equipment and material supplies needed in our new school building when we move in next year. It is a great time to get together with family and friends and all the UHS community to have some fun and raise a little . . . money for a great cause - our kids' school!

Volunteer Update 
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer at UHS. This is our first year using a web-based program to recruit volunteers and it has been very successful! We are thrilled to say that we have about 400 parents signed up to volunteer at our school! What incredible parents we have at UHS!
We have already been recruiting help for a number of events including, Magic of the Arts, Freshman and Sophomore field trips, Winter electives and more.
This system allows us to target specific groups (for example, freshman parents) for events and allows you, as parents access to our web-site so that you can get involved!

Please update your profile with your student's name/s and grade level/s.
Additionally we have added a skills section as well as the following assignments:
Freshman Field Trip (Oct 12), Sophomore Field Trip Date TBA (end of Sept/beginning of Oct), Forensics (speech and debate) and Science Olympiad).
We hope to have your help in these areas!

UHS/Phoenix Alliance Community Directory 
Phoenix Alliance would like to announce the NEW 2009-2010 Phoenix Alliance Community Directory Fundraiser.

The new directory will include: all students attending University High School with parent authorized listing of family information (i.e. address, phone, and email); faculty and staff contact information; list of yearly events and more.
This directory will only be published to the UHS community of 2009-2010 current student enrollment, faculty and staff.

Phoenix Alliance would like to include advertisements of the diverse UHS community of businesses/employers; talent (i.e. tutor, seamstress), hobbies (i.e. craftwork, scrapbooking, and photography) and groups (i.e. book clubs, Cancer Survivors, etc.).

To have your advertisement published in this directory or if you have any questions; please contact Debbie Hoskins at debhoskins@att.net (559) 325-8483 hm.

Mrs. Hoskins will be available in front of the UHS Office on: August 25, 26, and 27th from 7:30am-9am Sept. 14th starting at 6 pm. during BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT!
Please stop by and authorize your family information and pick up an Advertisement Order Form. All directory advertisement and parent authorization must be completed by Sept 14, 2009 (Back to school night).
 

 
The UHS Office is back from Summer break.  Teachers report to school on August 12, 2009.  First day of school is August 19.
 

 

Cookies Needed.  Attention Parent Volunteers: We need cookies for the 8th Annual Achievement Awards Ceremony on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 7:00 pm in the Residence Dining Hall. If unable to bring the cookies to the event you can have your student deliver the cookies to Mrs. Bird that day. Thank you for your help!

 

 

Phoenix Alliance News! Volunteering-Spring Fundraiser and more!!

Spring Fundraiser Themed Baskets.

This year we will again ask teachers of each 2nd period classroom to enlist the students with the donation of items for our silent auction. We are asking for one parent volunteer of each classroom to monitor and collect the items. Spring Fundraiser committee members will take care of the wrapping.

If you have not yet committed to any volunteer opportunities please consider participating in any one or more of the above listed items. Our students are the direct beneficiaries of our commitment to our UHS family.
